Rakuten TV will launch of its first owned and operated channel TOP MOVIES POLSKA, a new FAST channel, which will be available to households in Poland from mid-July.
The launch of the new O&O in Poland marks a significant milestone for Rakuten TV as it expands its presence in the Polish market and offers viewers an exceptional movie-watching experience free of charge.
Rakuten TV’s Chief Content Officer Marcos Milanez:
“Rakuten TV has established a wide coverage across 43 countries in Europe, and Poland has always been a key market for us since its launch in 2019 via TVOD, and more recently, with FAST & AVOD. We strongly believe on the advertising opportunity around CTV in Poland, and we’re confident on the Top Movies Polska potential, due to its top-quality Hollywood and European slate, and fully localized to the Polish audience.”
Top Movies Polska will be available for streaming on the Rakuten TV app across all devices, providing convenient access to a wide range of movie content, from both Hollywood and European distributors.
The channel is the first pure FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) movie channel in the Polish market and is a testament to Rakuten TV’s continued commitment to innovation and meeting the evolving demands of viewers in Poland. In February, Rakuten TV enriched its AVOD catalogue in Poland by adding nearly 100 localised films, including popular titles such as Blood Brother, Vendetta, Letters to Juliette, and Single Mums Club.
Top Movie Polska, is the latest FAST channel to be added to the Rakuten TV portfolio, after the recent announcements of the additions of CNN Now, Real Series and the Series Crime channels. The latest offering continues to build on the platform’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its offer of FAST and free, ad-supported local content, working in partnership with leading content creators, reinforcing its position as a platform that offers both premium content via TVOD, AVOD & FAST and also as a channel programmer, by packaging and curating the best and most relevant content for each market. Rakuten TV now has over 100 owned and operated channels in Europe across multiple genres, including Film, Documentary, Series, Kids, Reality, Crime and News.
Rakuten TV is available in 43 European territories and currently reaches more than 140 million households via its branded remote-control button and pre-installed app in Smart TV devices.
