S4C’s Cwis Bob Dydd (Daily Quiz) returns today (Monday 26 June) with a special prize – the use of a car for a year.
The Cwis Bob Dydd app is available free of charge and will challenge players with ten questions every day. The aim is to answer all the questions correctly, as quickly as possible, in order to reach the top of the scoreboard.
Iwan England, S4C’s Non-Script Commissioner:
“We are extremely happy to welcome back Cwis Pob Dydd. It’s clear that it was popular in its first season – so much so that we ran it for an extra month due to its popularity. Many have been desperate to see it come back as part of their daily ritual.
“Our intention is to reach Welsh speakers of all abilities, to give them an opportunity to read in Welsh every day and to learn from that. We are extremely grateful for the generosity of the prize sponsors, including Gravells in Llanelli who are providing the main prize of a year’s use of a car.”
The score is a combination of the number of correct answers and how quickly they’re answered. Different questions will be set for all contestants. Every time a competitor takes part, they will receive an entry to a prize draw to win the main prize of the season – the use of a car for a year, gifted by Gravells.
The chances of winning the car increase the more someone competes. The quiz will run for a period of twenty weeks, following its first season in October last year. Aa total of 5,000 people registered on the app, with around 3,500 playing the quiz daily.
There’s an iPhone 14 up for grabs for one of the contestants that play the game today. A prize will be awarded weekly. Of the 200 at the top of the week’s leaderboard, one player will be randomly chosen to win a Cwis Pob Dydd goody bag.
The quiz was created by a company based in the Basque Country, and S4C has been collaborating with them on the project.
Jonathan Gravell, Owner of Gravells:
“It’s a great pleasure for Gravells as a family company be able to support Welsh initiatives, and we’re really looking forward to seeing the popular Cwis Pob Dydd return.”
The quiz is created by Tinint on behalf of S4C, and is funded by S4C.
