OTD 1972: ‘Slagheap Special’ bus tour
On this Day, May 16th, 1972…
Greg Barnes reports for ATV Today on a new tour run by the PMT (Potteries Motor Transport) bus company of reclamation sites in Stoke-on-Trent. Travelers on the service get to see the less attractive sites of Stoke on Trent.
He then boards the bus which is seen leaving a depot. On board he interviews Reg Bradbury who is Assistant Tour Superintendent for PMT and Mike Summerjay, Reclamation Officer for the city planning department. We see views of reclamation sites at the Moss Field tip in Longton and a disused colliery shot from the moving bus.
