2012 was like any other year in one simple way; it was a year of contrasts. It was the year that gave us the Olympic and Paralympics Games as well as the Diamond Jubilee; all things to be proud of. But it was also the year in which revelations of sexual abuse by high profile figures shocked the nation and the cover up of the Hillsborough disaster was finally exposed.
