From a fast-paced game show to Jennifer Saunders

IN WITH A SHOUT

Joel Dommett is set to host a brand new high-octane game show, produced by Expectation, where contestants are challenged to shout at the TV to win a fortune. This fast-paced game show, launching on ITV1 and ITVX, will see two families battle against each other in a thrilling game with a uniquely challenging twist. With an impressive prize of a whopping £20,000, the contestants will have to answer questions hidden within a montage of moving images.

To win the cash, the contestants will have to shout the answers displayed on TV screens. For every category that they get right they move further up the money ladder but the pressure is on, as the families will have to bank as much cash as possible and avoid crashing out altogether.

With the chance to quadruple their prize pot, the stakes are high for the winning family who will have just 60 seconds to successfully answer questions correctly to turn off the TV’s. If they fail to turn off all ten tellies within the timeframe, they walk away with nothing.

“I’ve honestly always wanted to do [a game show]. I grew up watching those 80s and 90s quizzes with Bob Monkhouse and Bruce Forsyth. I loved watching all of those old school hosts who did it really well and interacted with families so brilliantly. I’m really excited to be finally doing it myself.  …Watching people like Bruce Forsyth, the way that he used to work with people was so brilliant and so friendly. I think the key is being friendly, funny and warm and yet somehow making it funny at the same time. I’ve tried to find a little bit of that.”

BURT BACHARACH: A TRIBUTE

Clive Myrie presents a tribute to songwriter, producer and pianist Burt Bacharach, widely seen as one of the most important songwriters of the 20th century, at the world-famous jazz club Ronnie Scott’s.

Alongside lyricist partner Hal David, Bacharach wrote hundreds of songs that were hits around the world for many of the biggest pop stars of the day. His breezy, catchy melodies sat atop quirky chord progressions and unusual time signature changes, elements that created the perfect platform for jazz interpretations.

The tribute show features brand new, jazz-inspired arrangements of some of Burt Bacharach’s best loved music, by the club’s Artistic Director James Pearson. The set list spans Burt Bacharach’s epic career and includes hits from the 1960s when he was at the height of his fame – including The Look Of Love, Alfie, Wives And Lovers and Do You Know The Way To San Jose – through to the 1980s and beyond, with records like That’s What Friends Are For.

On stage the Club’s Quintet is joined by a string section, percussionist, and vocalists Elaine Delmar, a singer who’s been performing since the early 1960s and has regularly headlined at Ronnie Scott’s, and Iain Mackenzie, an in-demand jazz and big band singer who is the principal male vocalist with the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra.
