OTD 1973: ‘Factory Wives’

On this International Women’s Day the archive ATV Today report sees Sue Jay visit Vaughan Brothers stamping shop in Willenhall along with three wives of workers at the foundry.

Sue and the wives watch as the husbands carry out their daily duties. Attempts at interviews inside the foundry where it is very noisy. Voice over comments from the women about the conditions the men work in.

Sue later interviews Jack Shakespeare from the works about the men refusing to wear ear protectors.
