The Queen visits Birmingham, to meet the people who were involved in the pub bombings in November 1974.
The ATV Today report sees the late Queen Elizabeth II arrive at the General Hospital to meet doctors and nurses who looked after the victims. The Queen also opens a new accident unit at the hospital.
Then its a visit to the Birmingham Council House, where The Queen is greeted by the Lord Mayor, she then goes to the West Midlands Police HQ at Lloyd House, meeting policemen who were called to the pubs after the explosions. She sees a demonstration of Goliath Wheelbarrowboats by the Royal Ordnance Corps and finally the monarch meets some of the City’s Fire Brigade at their HQ.
