Your Pick of the Plots for Thursday, December 8.
It’s Whitney’s 30th birthday. She confides in her housemates Finlay and Felix about the baby and they promise to support her. Whitney goes to speak to Zack.
Meanwhile, Jay breaks the news to Sonia that he can’t officiate Dot’s funeral as he has to go with Lola to her radiotherapy session.
Dotty presents Sonia with a tape recorder – she can listen to a tape she found amongst Dot’s belongings now. Sonia misses Whitney’s party to stay at home and gets tearful after hearing Dot’s voice.
Upon hearing that Dot’s body is now at No 25, Whitney, Dotty and Jack arrive to support Sonia and remember Dot.
Elsewhere, Jack asks to delay his return to work so he can be with Amy, but Denise thinks it’s a mistake to smother her. Later, Jack forgets to pick up Raymond, and Denise is hurt and angry.
Also, Alfie ropes in Rocky, Mitch and Harvey to be part of the panto, but his efforts to get Kat to join the cast fall flat.

Alya confronts Griff over his racist comments and threatens to call his employer.
Meanwhile, Fiz asks Chesney to hide the bag of John Stape things, so Gemma stuffs it in a cupboard. Hope suggests to Joseph and Sam they hold a séance to contact her dad. As the séance takes place, Joseph reaches into a cupboard for some biscuits and the jiffy bag falls out.
As the contents of the bag spill out, Hope, Joseph and Sam stare at the photos of John Stape, completely freaked out.
Elsewhere, Stephen plays a cruel trick on Elaine, sending an abusive text to his own phone but making it look like it came from Gabrielle. When Elaine suggests that Gabrielle is gaslighting him, Stephen makes out it’s only what he deserves. Elaine tells Stephen that she too was in an abusive relationship and she wants to help him.

Vinny continues to gamble.
Jimmy lets it slip to Mandy, who accuses a frustrated Vinny of turning into his father.
Meanwhile, Moira visits Cain, who is worried about their secret spreading. Matty finds a collection of rocks placed in the middle of the barn and realises Kyle is creating a memorial for Al.
Elsewhere, Charity updates Belle on Chloe’s antics. Belle is suspicious of Chas.
