This week in Letherbridge.
Monday: Rob and Mick visit the woods for inspiration. What they find takes them to Sutton Vale, where Scarlett gives them lots of paperwork. Maeve is awkward around them. Maeve sees a patient, Doris, who wants to donate her savings to the police to help find the killer. Maeve acts oddly and tries to persuade her not to. Rob and Mick think they have something, but it turns out to be a dead end.
Rob gets a call from Constance, to say Princess was with them when Jacob disappeared. Irrelevant, they don’t really know when he died. Mick gets some new information – Steph came to the police on 17th Feb worried about a missing Jacob, but never followed up on it. They go through the suspects and realise they still don’t have much, they need phone records. Chased, they get some information which means they have to go and talk urgently to one of the suspects. As they leave the station, we see Rosie, Steph, Princess and Maeve in various states of distress. But who are they going to?
Rosie mourns at home, when Princess knocks on the door. They argue about Jacob, and Rosie sends Princess away. Princess calls Sid, she left some things at The Mill, could he bring them to her. Her emotional response to him persuades him he needs to. Rosie’s friend Mary comes around, trying to get information out of Rosie about what has been going on. Sid goes to Princess, who is upset a about her failed career as she sees it. Sid tells her only she can sort it out. Mary tries to get Rosie to open up, but she doesn’t, and talks mysteriously about Jacob. Steph comes to Sutton Vale, demanding sleeping pills – it’s clear that she is really struggling.
Tuesday: Rob and Mick travel out, but to speak to whom? They pull up… to find Peter Ashdown, and ask where his mother is. As he goes to get her, Mick gets a call, and tells Rob they need to reinterview a witness.
They tell Steph that mobile network ‘pings’ show that Jacob came back to the house the evening of the 17th – new information. She reiterates that she was at the cinema that night. She admits they had argued that morning, and that Jacob said it was all a mess – he wanted to sell the practice. And told her that he had been having an affair. She asked him to leave.
They press her – her mobile pings also locate her phone here – she claims to have left it when she went to the cinema.
Rob gets a call – they discover that Steph’s friend’s alibi about the cinema has been retracted. While discussing this outside Rob spies a landrover and a forklift, and examines them both, before calling Mick over. They confront Steph with what they see – marks from the forklift on the landrover. Its hard to carry a body they say. Steph holds out under pressure.
Wednesday: Sid prepares to remove a mole from a young girl, but she gets twitchy at the sight of a needle. Sid can’t work out why, until Chelsea’s sister Michelle bursts in – she’s found out Chelsea is pregnant. They argue, and Sid says they can offer help and advice.
Chelsea doesn’t know whether to keep it or not. Michelle reveals she had a termination when she was 16, she still thinks about it, and the impact it would have had on Chelsea. She still isn’t sure whether to tell the father, but Chelsea is glad to have Michelle in her corner.
Bear attends the wake of a friend’s child. Catherine is worried about her husband Richie, who is now obsessed with seeing lights in the sky. Valerie meets Richie on the riverbank – he’s looking for a Mantis Man. Catherine visits Bear, she’s back at work, which is helping. But Richie is increasingly not dealing with it. Bear suggests therapy.
Thursday: Sid phones Princess and finding her upset, interrupts a Bear/Partners meeting to insist that they need to update her on the situation. Bear questions Sid about his interest and Sid snaps back at him. Jimmi finds Maeve feeling down after the revelations about Jacob’s death and books the two of them a romantic trip to the Lake District – she’s touched. Al is taking Eve home this afternoon, but when he gets home he is concerned.
Rob congratulates respected fellow Sergeant Liam Walsh on the commendation he is due to receive tonight – he’s sure it’ll be good for morale. The Station is short staffed and they’re all under pressure.
Friday: Eve lies in hospital. Valerie consoles Emma on cancelling a spa day to cover for Al who needs to be with his mother. Emma suggests they send a card and Valerie offers to go one better – she’ll make one.
At the hospital, after another frustrating conversation with Lydia Palmer at the MDC, Al determines to track down the Legionnaire’s source himself, Mrs Saintfield and Chloe Webber have agreed to speak to him later he chats to Council Groundsman Colin Brewer who is in another ward. Colin is delighted to help and reels off a list of his recent haunts before tipping Al off to another patient – a taxi driver. Al meets Amy Hewitt in a park and she shares the details of her fares. Al is excited to note that both visited the Catering College which has a public cafe. Amy tips him off about another patient – a Student Dog Walker whose business card she has. Al gives Ella a call and then visits Roger’s widow, Mrs Saintfield.
Unfortunately, she can’t think of any reason why Roger would have been at the Catering College but she enjoys sharing her memories of Roger and tells Al about his love of photography. Al calls Eve – she thinks she stopped for coffee but can’t remember where so Al says he will pop by with a photo of the café to show her.
