Hollyoaks to air Gary Lucy’s final scenes as Luke Morgan tonight

Hollyoaks viewers can bid farewell to Luke Morgan during a special two-hour viewing of the soap tonight, Monday 6th June.

The highly anticipated hour-long special, part-shot in Mallorca, includes Luke Morgan’s (Gary Lucy) final scenes, and Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) delivering Nancy Osborne’s (Jessica Fox) baby.

Preceding that will be a Hollyoaks wedding as Nancy and Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) tie the knot in touching scenes, as they are serenaded by a surprise guest, the one and only, Chesney Hawkes.

There will also be a second shock exit during the two-hour feature, which will see a beloved Hollyoaks resident make a life-changing decision.

Gary originally starred in the Channel 4 soap as Luke between 1999-2002, before returning to the role in 2017.

The character was at the centre of a hard-hitting male rape plot in 2000, as football rivalry led to Mark Gibbs (Colin Parry) subjecting Luke to a horrific changing room attack.

Luke’s other storylines have seen him try to overcome a dependency on alcohol, while there have been romances with Ruth Benson (Terri Dwyer), Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn) and Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring).

In December 2019, Luke was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and his condition has deteriorated in recent weeks.

Gary’s other TV credits include Footballers’ Wives, The Bill and EastEnders.

Due to schedule changes Channel 4 will be airing two episodes of Hollyoaks from 6pm to 7pm on Monday 6th June, immediately followed by the hour-long special episode on E4 from 7pm to 8pm.
