The research has been carried out by recruitment specialists, seoforhire who have sniffed their way through produce to rank the top kitchen food stinkers.

Focusing on office workers the team have ranked the smelliest foods we eat in the office from a survey recently conducted by 1500 respondents. No matter how delicious tasting your lunch may be, its powerful stink is not something fellow officemates seem to like or want to deal with.

So what is the smelliest? Well surprisingly Broccoli tops it with 42% of those asked saying its the most offensive of office pongs. It’s followed by that seaside whiff of fish. (Any kind) with fish taking 27% in the poll.

Third place was bestowed upon eggs, which surely make more of an impact once transformed into flatulence? Eggs were ranked third by 15% of those questioned. Office workers then placed Popcorn in fourth place at 11%.

And, surprisingly, the pong-fest that is curry only scrapes into the top five with 5%.

“Broccoli came out on top with respondents claiming the vegetable warmed up in the microwave, smelling a lot like cheesy feet. Coming in second was fish, with respondents claiming workers should be banned from the communal kitchen, and even fired.” – seoforhire noted
