This week in Shieldinch…
Sonny confesses that he duped Stevie’s absent father Sam Spiller into coming to Shieldinch, under the pretence that Stevie wants to interview him for a music magazine. Sam assumes that Stevie is a journalist, little realising there’s a secret family connection. As Stevie gets to know Sam, he toys with telling him the truth, but falls short.
Later, Scarlett is stunned when Sam walks into her shop and is secretly delighted when he recognises her, reminiscing fondly about their teenage love affair.
Touched by Sam’s obvious affection for Scarlett, Stevie plucks up the courage and finally tells Sam that he’s his secret son. After his initial shock, Sam is delighted he’s a dad – but his enthusiasm quickly proves overwhelming for Stevie.
Elsewhere, Roisin asks Bob to spend the day with her, for old time’s sake. Embarrassed to be asked in front of Angus, Bob turns Roisin down but later reconsiders. As the old friends reminisce, Bob wonders whether a romance with Roisin might be on the cards again.
Karen offers her property selling expertise to help Alex find a buyer for the Candlerooms. Amber is less than impressed with her involvement in Murdoch business, warning her brother not to be so trusting. Alex thinks she’s being paranoid, but when Karen later takes an ominous phone call, doubt is cast over her true intentions.
At The Two Jailbirds, Nicole and Darren’s flirtatious relationship heats up. While Darren sees it as a sign she’s interested, Nicole makes it clear it was a fling, nothing more.
