Starstruck cast revealed

The six part romcom will air on BBC Three later this year in the UK.

Starstruck, created, written by and starring Rose Matafeo will also air on HBO Max in the USA, ABC in Australia, and TVNZ in New Zealand.

The series follows Jessie (Rose Matafeo), a millennial living in East London juggling two dead end jobs and navigating the awkward morning-after-the-night-before when she discovers the complications of accidentally sleeping with famous film star Tom (Nikesh Patel).

Co-written by Alice Snedden, the cast also includes Emma Sidi and Sindhu Vee.

Special guest star Minnie Driver will feature alongside the wider cast including Al Roberts, Jon Pointing, Joe Barnes, Nic Sampson, Lola Rose Maxwell, Abraham Popoola and Ambreen Razia.

A regular on screen, Matafeo’s appearances include Taskmaster (Ch4), Have I Got News For You (BBC One), The Royal Variety Performance (ITV) and Unspun with Matt Forde. She has also acted in BBC One’s W1A, BBC Three’s Climaxed, E4’s Dead Pixels and Rose Matafeo: Temp for Channel 4’s Comedy Blaps.

The New Zealander’s award-winning stand-up special Horndog was shown on BBC One and BBC Three last month as part of the BBC’s Festival of Funny.
