Gary Lineker ‘in talks with BT’
Match Of The Day host Gary Lineker is being lined-up for a move from BBC to BT.
The former England football star and popular presenter is in talks to join BT’s new sport channel according to a press report today.
The Mirror says that Lineker’s agent has said that Gary has ‘expressed interest’ in moving. The alleged discussions come as BT surprisingly acquired a number of English Premier League matches for 2013 onwards.
It is also said that his £2 million pay packet at the BBC is likely to be cut as management continue with cost cutting measures under the Delivering Quality First proposals.
Lineker will be one of the main presenters for the London Olympic games which begin on 27th July. The BBC has said they do not comment on individual contracts.
