Pick of the Plots: Thursday July 5th
The latest goings on in EastEnders, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks.
Following the events of the night before, Max reminds Rainie that their focus has to be getting custody of baby Abi. Meanwhile, Donna is stunned to learn that Martin and Stacey are supporting Max’s custody case, soon lashing out at Rainie over her ability to take care of a child. Furious, Rainie gets revenge on Donna – stashing stolen ciggies on her stall, for which Donna is later fined. Max defends Rainie in front of Donna but turns on her when they’re alone.
Meanwhile, Denise and Kush are concerned as Carmel channels all her energy into another youth club event, rather than Shakil’s funeral. Later, Carmel seeks Hayley’s help with an idea but Hayley drops out at the last minute leaving Carmel to proceed alone. Hayley swipes some money from Carmel but feeling guilty, tries to give it back.
Later, Keegan confronts Carmel for not getting involved with Shakil’s funeral and Carmel finally crumbles and shares some harsh words with Keegan At the funeral parlour, Jay is stunned when Carmel tells him to cancel all the tributes and tell everyone they aren’t welcome at the funeral; she just wants it to be her and Shakil.
Elsewhere, Jean tries to put a stop to Hayley’s illegal cabbying.
EastEnders, Thursday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on BBC One.
Sarah has an appointment for a second opinion on her condition but the consultant agrees with the previous diagnosis. Desperate to attend the school dance, she lies and tells the consultant she feels fine but it’s clear when she walks upstairs she’s far from well and out of breath.
Later, Sarah is dropped off at her dance but struggles once again to catch her breath. Samson offers to take her home but she’s determined to stay. How will the school dance go, will Sarah feel fit enough to get through it?
Meanwhile, Faith innocently jokes that Chas and Paddy should be having as much fun as they can before the baby is born leaving Chas breaking inside.
Elsewhere, Doug is crushed when Diane and Pollard tell him they don’t want him to come back to work at the B&B.
Emmerdale, Thursday at 7pm and 8pm on ITV, STV and UTV.
When Maxine finds Adam’s ashes in the bin, Glenn blames it on Grace. Grace begs him to tell the truth, they have a row with Glenn leaving Grace sobbing in the village. Farrah bumps into Grace and takes her to the Loft where they end up kissing once more, while elsewhere Glenn sleeps with Maxine after scattering Adam’s ashes. Later, Farrah snaps at Kim who returns to the basement as she feels safe there.
As Sami reveals that he is moving away, Ellie decides she wants an abortion and asks Holly to accompany her to the hospital. At the hospital Holly tips off Sami – but will he show up?
Elsewhere, Marnie visits Alfie at the hospital where she and Yazz are told that Alfie has Schizoaffective Disorder, requiring medication for the rest of his life. Marnie orders Yazz to keep her mouth shut – she wants a second opinion.
Hollyoaks, Thursday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
