Irish Open Golf coverage to air on BBC Northern Ireland next month.

Some of the world’s top golfers will tee-off at the stunning Ballyliffin Golf Club for this year’s Irish Open from July 5th to the 8th and BBC Sport NI will bring fans coverage across TV, radio and online.

Starting with a 30-minute preview programme on Wednesday July 4th at 10.40pm, Stephen Watson will also present four hour-long highlights programmes each night on BBC One Northern Ireland with a round-up of all of that day’s best action from the Thursday to the Sunday.

BBC Radio Ulster’s coverage also tees-off with a look ahead to the tournament which will see Spanish star Jon Rahm return to defend the Irish Open title he claimed last year at Portstewart.

Joel Taggart presents Irish Open Special, a live 30-minute programme on Wednesday evening at 6.30pm previewing the event. The programme will hear from some of the celebrities competing in the Pro-Am event and a look ahead to the first round on Thursday.

The programme is back live from the course on Thursday and Friday evenings at 6.30pm for day one and two of the tournament while Summer Club will be live from the Glashedy links on Saturday from 3pm. And Joel will be back on Sunday 8 July from 6.30pm for the final day as the Irish Open at Ballyliffin comes to a close.

The BBC Sport NI website bbc.co.uk/sportni will also keep fans across all the action during the tournament with leaderboard, reports and interviews. The highlights programmes will also be available on the BBC iPlayer.
