Pick of the Plots: Monday September 11th

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

After covering with Eileen, Phelan bundles Andy into his van and they set off for France. However, their journey comes to a sharp halt when Phelan crashes the van. With Phelan slumped over the wheel, Andy seizes his chance to escape. Meanwhile, Eileen and Nicola decide to snoop at the house Phelan’s been doing up.

Anna is horrified to see the conditions Seb is living in. Seb implores Anna not to phone social services for fear they’ll take his twins into care. Anna throws Seb a lifeline while Seb implores her to keep his awful home life to herself.

Elsewhere, Gary makes the decision to return to the Ukraine to fund his son’s medical bills; Maria is livid when Aidan collects Liam from school; Yasmeen and David clash over a dog; and Shona is threatened.

As residents grieve for the loss of Steven, guilt eats away at Lauren who finds herself reaching for the bottle…

Sharon fears for Ian when he refuses to visit Jane in hospital; believing she’s going to die. Meanwhile, Max is alarmed to hear Jane is still alive and sneakily visits the hospital to get an update on her condition. Back in the Square, Max is taken back when Ian asks him to come to the hospital with him.

Elsewhere, Bernadette struggles to come to terms with her loss; Linda continues to toy with the idea of leaving Mick.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One. Repeated at 10pm on UKTV channel ‘W’.

It is Tracy’s birthday and everyone’s gathered ready in the shop to celebrate but David heads out on a last-minute job. Meanwhile Megan reminds a downcast Leyla the designer is wanting repayment for her ruined wedding dress.

As he returns to the village, David finds a drunken sorrowful Leyla plonked in a puddle of oil and wallowing about her situation. David offers to help Leyla out of her financial predicament and she accepts but how will Tracy react?

Elsewhere, Bernice goes on a date; Pete berates Emma for ruining his relationship with Leyla. 

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

As Lisa contemplates surrogating for Louis and Simone, a violent clash occurs between Louis and Zack.

Zack’s hot-headed behaviour concerns Leela but she leaves Daniel with him whilst she goes to apologise to Louis. But when Leela returns home, Zack is cradling baby Daniel and tells Leela they need to call an ambulance. Meanwhile, Lisa decides she does want to be a surrogate.

Elsewhere, Tony is furious that Ste has split up with Harry; Lily is devastated when she finds out that it’s unlikely she’ll get into Oxford or Cambridge.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Ruhma winces as Mrs Tembe greets her as ‘Sister Kartara’ and tells her that the new Practice Leaflets have arrived. Later that day Ruhma broaches the subject with Mrs Tembe. A fed-up Mrs Tembe dumps the new leaflets in the bin and picks up the phone to put in a new order.

Valerie announces to everyone that Bren’s funeral will be tomorrow but that Ayesha doesn’t want any of them to go. Also, she didn’t want their money – Emma is particularly saddened by this. But later, Al tells Valerie that he’s going to go and she decides to do the same.

Elsewhere, a routine appointment with a boy and his mum takes a surprising turn for Heston; Sid makes a decision about Megan.
