Pick of the Plots: Monday May 22nd

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Monday.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Adam stops an exam-bound Daniel and forcefully takes him to a deserted car park where he probes him about Ken’s attack. Daniel snaps when Adam brings up Sinead and makes a speedy getaway. Later, Adam calls the police and accuses Sinead while Daniel leaves his exam unable to concentrate – could this affect his chances of a place at Oxford? The police arrive at the bistro and take Sinead away for questioning.

Nathan asks Neil to keep an eye out for Bethany while a worried Sarah decides on a course of action. Soon, Sarah is pouring her heart out to a police officer – Neil! Later, Bethany confronts Sarah before Nathan suggests she show her gratitude to Neil and Ian.

Elsewhere, Johnny is shocked when the doctor wants to test him for Parkinson’s and MS; Aidan’s intention to make an announcement at the factory anniversary party excites Eva; and Gina and Mary both get good news.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

With Mick still in the dark about the situation with the Vic, Shirley’s under increasing pressure and finds herself confiding in Whitney. When Shirley finally works up the courage to be honest with Mick, she’s too late as she finds him talking to Fi in the bar.

Denise is touched when Kush wishes her good luck before an exam. Later, Denise relays the encounter to Kim but insists that she isn’t looking for anything more than friendship.

Elsewhere, Dot arranges for Charlie and Jack to thrash out their issues; Honey plans a housewarming party.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One. Repeated at 10pm on UKTV channel ‘W’.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

A guilt-ridden Tracy decides to confess to the police that she attacked Josh, but Eric throws a spanner in the works when he smashes up her phone which contains a recording backing up her story. A furious Kerry takes the damaged phone to the police station anyway. She is pursued by David who is also determined to get his point across. David is heartbroken when Tracy sticks by her story and is kept in.

Charity’s intrigued when she hears Debbie and Rebecca talking business and blackmails them into including her.

Elsewhere, Ross denies responsibility to a confrontational Moira when the farm is attacked again; Rebecca admits to Robert she has not yet had an abortion.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Cleo follows Joel to a drug deal. Joel’s surprised when she returns his motorbike that was stolen by Shane, and they tidy it up together to take his mind off his cravings. They’re closer than ever and Cleo tells Joel that she loves him. He tells her that he loves her too and they kiss. Joel suggests that they leave Hollyoaks.

It’s Prince and Hunter’s birthday. Tom agrees to drive some of the teens to a party but things go tits-up when they get lost and Yasmine requires hospital treatment. Prince takes over the driving from a nervous Tom despite being unlicensed. Meanwhile, Cleo is on the back of Joel’s motorbike, but as they turn into a country road, they come face-to-face with Prince and the other teens and an accident ensues.

Also, Hunter tries to kiss Neeta; Ellie locks her mum and dad out of the pub.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

In light of the horrific accident they witnessed Jimmi offers support to Sid and Rob. Mrs Tembe is especially concerned about Sid who reveals he doesn’t feel unduly affected. She mentions the benefits of counselling and suggests he speak to Megan who offers to counsel him herself.

A concerned Jimmi seeks Rob out at the police station but Rob convincingly dismisses leaving the scene of the accident as a ‘momentary lapse’. Sid talks vaguely about the accident to Karen. When she questions Rob he is adamant that he is fine.

Elsewhere, Karen mixes up two patients who are brothers, leaving Heston to deal with the repercussion when he reveals a serious diagnosis to the wrong man; Zara tries a bit too hard to be Emma’s friend.

Doctors, Monday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
