Frankie’s 18th birthday celebrations prove tense as she snipes at her mother, Lorna, over anything and everything. Later, Liam leaves with the money but Grace loses Esther too when she dumps her.

Karl and Sid talk about Karl’s experience in the army, and when Sid brings up depression again Karl turns it on him, asking him why he is always anxious. Karl reminds Sid he has never killed anyone, he’s a mechanic, but that killing someone might be easy compared to what he is going through. Karl, at Sid’s suggestion, starts a sleep diary. Ayesha isn’t sure, and has a drink.

Zara pushes Daniel to organise something for tomorrow, so he canvasses Al, Sid and Jimmi without actually having any idea what to do. He eventually passes it over to Jimmi once he has convinced him they should do something.
