With Ken worried about returning home, Roy insists that he stay with him. Meanwhile Simon plays Nick and Leanne the panicky voice mail from Peter. Nick’s sure of Peter’s guilt and when Peter and Toyah call at the bistro to collect Simon, Nick pulls out Simon’s phone and plays them the incriminating message. Toyah’s shocked. As Peter offers an explanation to clear his name, Nick, Leanne, Toyah, Simon, Tracy and Adam listen in disbelief. Later, Peter turns to Chloe for help but will she back up his story?
Daniel tells Sinead he has to get away as it’s clear his family think he tried to kill Ken. Sinead reckons that running away will only compound their suspicions. Will she be able to convince him to stay?
Elsewhere, Bethany confronts Nathan about his relationship with Mel; Eileen’s overjoyed when she gets a knock at the door revealing she’s won an electric car; Jenny encourages to Sally to put the online abuse behind her and reactivate her social media accounts and later Sally’s thrilled when Cheshire Haven invite her to do an interview; and Kevin’s offended when Dev offers him credit.

At Mulberry, spirits are high as everybody gathers at Ashley’s bedside reminiscing happy memories, but it’s bittersweet for Laurel as she stands in the doorway and soaks in the scene. The reality of the situation soon strikes a chord with some of the group. Later, when Laurel is left alone with Ashley she gets a tender moment before he quietly passes away.
When Nell arrives at the factory having been beaten up by her friend she was lodging with, Jai arranges for her to stay at a hostel. How will she react to being helped?
Elsewhere, Robert’s unnerved when he spots Rebecca and Victoria becoming friendly.

Esther wakes up with her leg in plaster. Kim tells her that she fell down the city steps and also that Frankie and Jack are dead – they were killed by Grace. Later, Kim panics when Grace runs off her with keys. At the flat a defensive Esther hits Grace with her crutch, while Kim arrives in pursuit of Grace leading to a scuffle and Kim’s lies unravelling. Afterwards Grace wants Esther to live with her. Esther smiles and they kiss.
Nancy questions why Darren needs to apply for a loan. She’s disappointed that he didn’t confide in her about their money problems when she sees him driving Maxine’s taxi.
Elsewhere, Liam feels like he’s betrayed Eva after he sleeps with Courtney; Liam sees Grace and Esther kissing and rings DS Thorpe to tell him that Grace shot him; Darcy guilt-trips Adam into spending time with her and Toby instead of Maxine and Minnie.

Ayesha worries to Emma that Karl could have a brain tumour. Karl admits to Jimmi that he is always very tired, and gets stressed by Jimmi’s questions. Rob sees Ayesha, and says he’d like a word with Karl, even after Ayesha explains that they got to the bottom of it, and Karl isn’t AWOL. Rob talks kindly to Karl, men in uniform together. Later, Ayesha continues to worry about Karl.
Karen is worried about Mrs Tembe after her quick departure with JJ, and leaves her a message. Later, Rob visits Karen to tell her that Mrs Tembe isn’t in danger, but that the police do want to speak to JJ. Meanwhile, Zara gets frustrated at Valerie and her constant deployment of Daniel as her mentor and offloads to Karen. Valerie is upset to get wind of the fuss she’s caused but Daniel is fuming with Zara for upsetting Valerie.
Elsewhere, Ruhma has to deal with an extended labour while the family gather at the hospital in excitement.
