Pick of the Plots: Monday March 20th

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Monday.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Ken is tickled pink to find out that son Daniel has been accepted into Oxford. After viewing a flat with Daniel, Sinead’s stunned to find out why Ken has organised a celebratory meal at the bistro. Ken is taken back when Daniel reveals he’s turning Oxford down. Later, Ken appeals to Sinead to knock her relationship with Daniel on the head but she tells him she is pregnant. An angry Ken rants about his ‘wasted life’ with Deirdre, irking a listening-in Tracy.

Toyah’s perturbed to find a stash of cash in the kitchen cupboard. When Peter mentions one of his regular fares is having trouble with their ex, Toyah encourages him to go and check on them, presuming it’s a man. Will Peter respond when Chloe makes a pass at him? Later, Toyah confronts Peter with the cash…

Elsewhere, Anna bans Faye from seeing Seb; Nick pleads with Michelle not to tell Leanne about their fumble; and Nick and Leanne agree access terms with Steve.  

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

Denise attends her meeting at Minute Mart HQ and is later unimpressed when she arrives home and finds a community meeting hasn’t been taken seriously in her absence.

Lauren confides in Whitney about her relationship and later talks to Jane. Lauren realises she’s lost her phone and rushes to the Vic. Whitney encourages Lauren to fight for her relationship.  

Elsewhere, Dennis continues to blackmail Michelle; and Kathy puts unwelcome pressure on Ben to celebrate his 21st but he soon has a change of heart.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One. Repeated at 10pm on UKTV channel ‘W’.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Chas and Robert visit Aaron in prison when news comes through concerning his appeal. Chas is shocked to see the state of Aaron but he claims he’s now refraining from drug-use. Robert steels himself to confess his own antics…but will he go through with it?

When April chokes violently on a sweet in Carly’s presence, Marlon is shocked when Carly does nothing to alleviate the youngster’s perilous situation.

Elsewhere, Harriet is heartbroken after a visit to Ashley in the care home reveals his deterioration.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Dirk questions Nick, and Cindy accidently slips up forcing Holly to admit that she once falsely accused Dodger of raping her. Nick is beginning to panic about what will happen and looks for reassurance from Holly but she needs to speak to Ellie first. Meanwhile, Alfie is struggling with being in the middle of his sisters – Ellie and Holly – and Marnie arrives home to comfort her daughter. Cindy blames Marnie for Ellie’s allegation while Marnie seeks out James to tell him the news.

Nick explains to Dirk what happened at the traffic light party as Ellie recaps the night’s events to her family. Holly, who has arrived to hear Ellie’s side of the story, doesn’t believe that Nick has done anything wrong and Mac orders her to leave. After their chat, Dirk is sure that Nick is innocent and heads to The Dog to stop anyone going to the police. James explains to Ellie that she has done nothing wrong while Dirk’s presence causes Mac to flare up.

Later, Marnie and Ellie have a chat and Ellie decides she wants to go to the police. Alfie makes Cindy rethink her decision to trust Nick.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.


Doctors Pick of the Plots logo

Bonding over a motorbike steers Mrs Tembe and JJ’s relationship in an exciting new direction. Meanwhile, Ayesha is worried when Al suffers a crushing headache.
