Pick of the Plots: Friday January 27th

SoapWorld takes a look at the goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Friday.

Leanne rows with Nick over his lack of sensitivity with Liz, before confiding her unborn baby’s paternity to Toyah. Later, Nick apologises to Liz, but he’s perturbed to see Leanne and Steve together again. Nick resorts to desperate measures. Later, Toyah blabs to Peter that Nick is planning to take Simon to live in Edinburgh. Peter confronts Nick about his plans while Leanne’s stunned as they’re news to her. Peter reveals to Nick that he knows Steve is the father of Leanne’s baby and that if he tries to pull any more stunts, he’ll spill the beans.

When Fiz suggests that Michelle could always try for another baby, Steve and Michelle are furious. However, Steve soon regrets going off at the deep end and suggests to Michelle that they need a break. Later, the pair leave for Ireland. Robert’s sad to see them go.

Elsewhere, Adam clashes with Alya after she turns the tables on him; it’s Tracy’s 40th but a celebratory lunch proves a flop, Tracy confides in Luke about her past; and Roy suggests Brian starts looking for somewhere to live.

Coronation Street, Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.

Pete insists that he’s OK with Debbie being back. Later, Debbie queries Ross’s feelings for Rebecca. As Ross tells Debbie it’s her he loves, will Debbie agree to rekindle things? Meanwhile, Diane’s upset about Sarah.

Lisa hugs Zak reassuringly. Later Zak is shocked when Lisa rejects his advances for another hug. Sam accuses Zak of being selfish and suggests he should get a divorce from Joanie. 

Elsewhere, Pierce makes Rhona feel guilty; Ashley is unsure of what’s going on; Pete reassures Leyla he wants to be with her; and Chrissie plots to get Rebecca in trouble, suspecting her of being the Home Farm thief.

Emmerdale, Friday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

It’s Ryan’s birthday. Amy is planning a party but Ryan’s mind is elsewhere – on Goldie’s video. Ste has no plans to use it against him, but teases Ryan to the contrary, so Ryan promises to help him get 50/50 custody of the kids. Later, however, the party concludes with a bang after Amy gets hold of Harry’s phone and plays the Ryan and Mercedes’ video to all of the guests.

Cleo receives a text off Pete from a contraband phone. She later bumps into Joel who advises her to stay away from Pete and pretends to throw her phone in the river. She’s furious but surprised when she gets home to find him talking to Myra about Celine’s funeral. He gives her the phone that she thought had gone, leaving her intrigued. However, Joel later gets a threatening phone call from ‘Shane’, what’s he hiding?

Warren offers Joel a place to stay when he gets a transfer to a local church. However, Joel declines when he finds out Warren was trying to donate Nico’s clothes without Sienna’s permission. On Joel’s advice, Warren delivers Nico’s belongings to the McQueen’s and Sienna tells him she wants him back – and will never stop trying.

Hollyoaks, Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Bren wakes up and, whilst Ayesha wants her to move in, Tyler is keen to talk to her alone. Mrs Tembe helps a student find somewhere to live, whilst inadvertently giving her baking rival an advantage!
