Scotland may not have qualified for Euro 2016, but STV will be at the heart of the tournament bringing viewers an extensive line-up of live games and coverage from the action in France.
“This is probably one of the most open Euro championships in decades. It promises to be a fascinating four weeks of football. And while Scotland aren’t there, we will have comprehensive coverage across all platforms. Let the festival begin!’’ – STV sports presenter Raman Bhardwaj
STV’s live match coverage includes the hotly anticipated France v Romania opening match on Friday 10 June, the England v Russia clash on Saturday 11 June and key matches featuring Northern Ireland, Wales and Republic of Ireland.
Online, STV will bring football fans everything they need in the lead-up to the tournament and comprehensive video content – including STV’s sport team’s favourite highlights from previous competitions.
Throughout the event, the STV News app and website will feature live coverage of every game along with live clips of the action as it happens, and of course all the latest news and analysis as the tournament progresses.
All of STV’s matches will be available live on the STV Player. Along with an on air promo featuring Eric Cantona, STV has launched a bold new consumer campaign that hopes to capture the mood of the Scottish nation as they tune into Euro 2016. The campaign, ‘Get Tae France’, will be seen across STV’s on air, online and social media channels.
“STV’s ‘Get Tae France’ campaign embraces the Scottish passion and sense of humour. We were gutted to miss out but the nation will be tuned into to every last minute of the finals. We’ll be entertaining the people of Scotland, debating and discussing everything from the chances of the home nations, to the best haircuts and everything in between.” – Stephen O’Donnell, Director of STV Creative
