Piers Morgan is back by ‘unpopular demand’ in new Good Morning Britain promotion from ITV.
The trailer to mark the arrival of Piers Morgan as a regular host on Good Morning Britain, the journalist and broadcaster is portrayed as a devilish figure coming to wreak havoc. Accompanied by The Rolling Stones song Sympathy For The Devil, the film starts with a darkened London skyline and flashes of thunder and lightening signalling something ‘big’ is about to happen.
Outside the ITV building, two dogs named ‘Squiddly’ and ‘Diddly’ sit at the feet of an anonymous man wearing trademark blue jeans and heeled boots. Is it Simon Cowell with his famous pets? A dark-suited man walks past the dogs and they whimper and cower.
The man then walks into the studio building and past a bank of television sets which all flicker and show a shadowed profile of a familiar face. He calls the lift and the button sparks under his demonic touch, inside the lift his presence makes the lights flicker.
In a darkened Good Morning Britain studio, presenters Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard and Sean Fletcher are preparing for the morning’s show. The lights in the studio flicker as the figure approaches and they realise something is not quite right. The man walks past a vase of flowers which wilt immediately as he passes. In the studio, Susanna looks nervously at a glass of water on her desk which starts to boil as the dark figure draws closer.
Suddenly the studio doors fly open and papers are scattered around the studio from the blast. The devilish figure stands in the studio doorway. His eyes flash red for a moment and then as the light returns to normal we see it is Piers Morgan.
