Coronation Street trailer launched for Craig Tinker’s departure

Is Tinker’s time Up?…

In a shock twist that’s more brutal than Gail Platt’s love life, Coronation Street tonight launched a jaw-slapping new promo for ITV1 (and an STV version for those in Scotland) showing poor Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) laid out stone cold – battered, bloodied, and definitely not ready for a round two – following a fight against crime.

DS Swain (Vicky Myers), whose emotional dialogue floats in like a ghost at a séance, whispering the kind of philosophical dread you only get after three glasses of Merlot: “If we knew today was our last day on earth, what would we do differently?” Well, maybe Craig would’ve called in sick…

In a week packed tighter than Dev’s bargain bin, the drama focuses on Craig and DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), as the secrets of the ever charming/menacing Mick (Joe Layton) unravel at speed. Kit’s past creeps in like a clingy ex, threatening to destroy everyone he holds dear—including Craig, who just wanted to play detective. He was never going to be the next Jim Taggart, was he?

Brace yourselves, Corrie fans… the cobbles have never seen such savagery since Jack Duckworth donned a frock…

Next week’s episodes kick off with Craig buzzing to shadow Kit in CID – finally, a desk! A badge! A proper pen! But alas, Kit’s got other things on his mind. However, keen to show he is worthy of a part in CSI:Weatherfield Craig goes full on ‘crime stopper’ but does his overly keen to impress all-out action-hero moment mean it’s unlikely he’ll be making it to Friday’s episode alive?

What follows is a spiralling domino of danger, betrayal, and the kind of fight scene that would make Liam Neeson wince. By the end, Craig’s life hangs in the balance… and so does our sanity. Will Kit escape the ghosts of his past? Will Mick be accepted by RADA? Will Corrie find a new ‘supporting artist’ to play a police officer now their regular payroll one is off the cobbles? We’ll have to wait and see.

The first showing of the promo aired at 21.05pm tonight on ITV1. Craig’s final fight will be on screen week commencing Monday 19th May on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV1/STV and streamed on ITVX/STV Player.
