Highlife for Avani in ‘Enders, John is panicked in the dales and Debbie gets a diagnosis in Corrie

A look at some of the soap highlights coming up next week in Pick of the Plots…

Next week’s highlight for us from EastEnders sees Avani is spending time with Joel at No.41, much to Ravi’s disapproval. Meanwhile, Priya receives a call from Jack, who informs her that the police won’t be pursuing Avani’s complaint.

Worried about how the news will affect Avani, Priya chooses to keep it from her and even urges Amy to stay quiet. But when Amy and Avani mend their friendship, the truth inevitably comes out. In the meantime, Priya visits the police station to file a new complaint, and Callum has to step in when she loses her temper. Later, at home, a furious Avani confronts the family for hiding the truth and storms out in anger.

Later in the week Avani and Joel are smoking weed together when he makes a move on her…

Coronation Street next week sees Debbie swerves an invitation for lunch with Ronnie as she is going to the hospital with Carl who makes out they are going to a meeting. The neurologist confirms to Debbie that she has vascular dementia, but as long as she leads a healthy lifestyle, she can carry on as normal for the time being.

A shocked Debbie makes it clear to Carl that she wants to keep her diagnosis to herself for now and she’s not ready to tell the family. Debbie is upset to see what the future holds when a woman with dementia approaches her outside the clinic. Back at home an excited Ronnie tells her Ronnie calls at the hotel and excitedly reveals that he’s put in an offer on No.6. How will Debbie react?

Also, it is goodbye Daisy from not only the Rovers Return, but also Weatherfield. After a recent whirlwind of drama involving a secret pregnancy, catfishing, and tangled romances, Daisy is ready to embark on a new chapter at the other side of the world, leaving a void in the heart of Weatherfield and devastation in her wake.

Over in Emmerdale Tracy gives Cain a birthday card she made with Frankie for Nate, prompting a reflective Cain to leave Nate a voicemail. Later, when Nate’s phone rings again—this time with another call from Cain—John panics and accidentally answers. Flustered and overwhelmed by his own tangled lies, he quickly hangs up, dropping the phone in the process. The next day, John spots Cain leaving yet another voicemail for Nate and realizes there’s another crisis brewing.

When Cain later tells Moira about the strange call he had with Nate, she’s heartbroken for him. Still, she encourages Cain not to give up on reconnecting with his son—her support giving him a much-needed boost. Hoping for a lead, Cain visits Tracy, only to be crushed when she reveals she doesn’t have Nate’s new number. The reality of Nate abandoning his wife and child hits hard. After spending some time with Frankie, Cain tells Tracy he’s going to Shetland—determined to confront Nate face to face.

Later, John stops by to check on Tracy, but his nerves spike when he learns Cain is on his way to find Nate…
