Punch Records launches ‘Community Routes’ to develop young creatives in Birmingham
Lizzie Giles, Producer at Punch Records, shares her excitement about the programme:
“Community Routes is about giving young, emerging talent the skills and confidence they need to take their creative careers to the next level. We are thrilled to offer such a dynamic, hands-on opportunity for participants to develop professionally and creatively, all while learning from industry experts. Last year’s event received such incredible feedback that we’re excited to build upon that in year two.”
The programme is generously supported by The National Lottery Community Fund, reinforcing the collective drive to invest in the future of creative industries in the West Midlands. Thanks to this funding, the initiative is free to apply and take part in. Participants also receive travel money and lunch during the residency, so that they can attend without additional financial barriers – an important factor that opens up the opportunity to all, including those from low-income families across Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Applications for the fifty spaces will be open from Monday 14th May to Monday 30th June, offering young people a chance to take part in the residency, which will run from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd August, followed by an exclusive networking event on Saturday 23rd August. Both the residency and masterclasses run from a location in central Birmingham.

Applications for the fifty spaces will be open from Monday 14th May to Monday 30th June
