Off the back of a rousing pep talk from Dana, Harper prepares to tell Tane what she really wants – a wedding that means something, for both of them. At dinner, she suggests that they scrap their plans for a “no fuss” ceremony – she’ll only get one wedding day, after all.
When Tane counters that they decided on a small ceremony because they wanted to get married before the baby came, Harper folds immediately, her heart breaking. A small ceremony will be fine, she guesses, and she updates Dana to that end. Dana, looking after her sister’s best interests and tipsy after an evening of drinking with Remi, confronts Tane head on – Harper wants a dress, and a venue. A proper wedding. So, if he thinks they’re on the same page about it, he’s wrong.
Eden and Cash are in bed together when Tane gets home, and they wonder if he’s worked out they are back together yet. As Cash gets up, he asks her out for dinner later – meet him back here in an hour, it’s a surprise. When they emerge from the bedroom, Tane is surprised to see Eden. He tells Cash he’s glad they’re back together, but he doesn’t hide his surprise – he put her through a lot.

The entire household is buzzing with anticipation for Eliza’s arrival, and Alf can tell how nervous Roo is. She tells Marilyn she’s determined not to let this child down – she just wants to make her life a little bit better.
When Eliza arrives, she gets a warm welcome from Alf and Marilyn, but she’s not optimistic about the placement – she won’t be here long. The only thing she has on her is a music box – her only possession left after the devastating fire that left her with a burn on her arm. As Roo dresses her injury, Eliza talks about how intense the fire was – all she could do was run, and her foster siblings were still inside.
While Roo tells Alf the extent of what Eliza has been through, she wonders how frightened she must be right now. But upstairs, Eliza goes through the contents of her music box, carefully inspecting each of her few items – a feather, a ring, a lock of hair, and finally a lighter. She flicks it on and stares into the flame, utterly transfixed. Did Eliza start the fire that she came here to take refuge from?
