Cash and Rose brief Tim on their plan to catch Nerida… using him. But first they have to get him on board, and surely there’s got to be a better way. Cash can’t understand Tim’s hesitation and Rose has to question if he’s too close to this case. Is Cash’s judgement impaired?

Eden and Abigail try to convince Nerida to let them go, but she’s got other plans. Besides, Eden stole Tim from her, so they’re not on the same side, no matter what. Tim responds to her text, agreeing to meet up, so she texts him to meet her where everything changed. This means nothing to Tim, who is not in love with Nerida despite what she has managed to delude herself into believing. Fortunately, they have her journal on file, and Cash finds an entry with those same words – that’s when everything changed, when Tim met her at a train yard on the other side of Mangrove River. They finally get Tim onside; this is about Eden and Abby.

Tim arrives at the train yard, with Cash and Rose listening in from a nearby van via a wire. He can hear voices. They’re all here. Tim asks if everyone is okay, and through the wire Cash finally gets to hear Eden’s voice as she confirms, they’re okay. Tim leans into the role, pretending that he’s in love with Nerida in order to disarm her. It’s very convincing, and Eden and Abby share a glance that asks – he’s on our side, right?

Tim proposes that they get out of there and start over, his career doesn’t even matter anymore, he’s suspended. He seals the deal with an ‘I love you’ and they kiss. But Nerida has one more request, holding out the syringe, Tim has to prove that Eden really means nothing to him. Cash, listening in, realises that Nerida is going to kill Eden, whether or not Tim does. He bursts out of the van, ignoring orders to stand down. Rose calls all units to action, it’s go-time.

The police storm the train shed, and realising she’s been set up, Nerida jabs the syringe into Eden’s leg. Abigail watches on as Cash tells Eden to open her eyes, but she’s getting very drowsy. Cash carries an unconscious Eden out of the train yard, but the ambulance is still ten minutes away. He decides to take her himself. Tim and Abigail watch on as Nerida is put into the backseat of a cop car. Somehow, Tim still cares for Nerida, despite everything. She’s not well.

At the hospital, Cash clutches Eden’s hand, willing her to hold on. Tim arrives to check in and Cash thanks him for saving Eden’s life by going in as bait. Tim has accepted that his relationship with Eden is over, but he has parting words for Cash – not many people get second chances. Don’t waste this one. Later, while Cash waits at Eden’s bedside, they have a visitor – Remi. What has he come to say to Cash?
