Soap Weekly: Paul gets his way in Neighbours
Soap highlights for the coming week from River City, Neighbours and Home and Away…
This week in Shieldinch… Tyler is summoned by Harry to face the repercussions of the botched drugs deal. Eddie encourages Tyler to be honest with his dad and explain that the shooting has taken its toll on him mentally.
Together, they go to see Harry and Eddie tries to take the heat off Tyler saying he stepped in and accidentally prevented the drop. Harry’s not interested in excuses and kicks Eddie out. Alone, Tyler takes Eddie’s advice and reveals his struggle. However, the confession is interrupted when Harry receives a phone call – thanks to Tyler, the family reputation and business is damaged. Furious, Harry lashes out.
Elsewhere, Kelly-Marie’s delighted when Caitlin becomes her first nail client and vows to make a good impression. However, with Scarlett unable to babysit, Kelly-Marie has to juggle childcare and career.
Fortunately for Kelly-Marie, both Caitlin and Karen are supportive and understanding. However, despite impressing with her nail designs, Kelly-Marie is left mortified when her children smash a crystal vase at the Tall Ship.
Alex is unnerved by Lenny’s distant demeanour, on edge about everything. Worse still, out of sight, Lenny slips into his son’s flat and sets up a spy-cam – desperate to catch him out. When Mulvaney spots Lenny acting shifty, he’s stunned by his friend’s confession – Lenny thinks Alex is conspiring against him and is working for Harry Foulkes. Blindsided, Mulvaney urges Lenny to rethink things and put his mental health first…to no avail.
Agreeing an intervention is their only option to help Lenny, Lydia and Mulvaney join forces but worry about how he’ll react. Lydia fills Alex in on the plan but when he’s reluctant, she’s forced to reveal the extent of Lenny’s paranoia and how he could be in danger.
Shocked to hear how much her father has deteriorated, Amber joins forces with Lydia and Alex to try and make Lenny see sense. Back at home, Lenny immediately feels ambushed by his waiting family. Lydia urges Lenny to hear them out about their concerns but it only makes matters worse and he tries to attack Alex.
Also this week, Caitlin’s unnerved as Sam and Seb spend time together. Worried her affair with Seb will be exposed, Caitlin does her best to create some distance between the brothers. However, when Sam takes it on himself to help his brother back into the dating game, Caitlin is secretly stung. Although Caitlin feels conflicted about her feelings, Seb vows to move on.
Now that he plans to live with Amber, Angus is faced with the prospect of telling Bob he’s moving out. At the garage, Angus breaks the news but feels guilt-ridden when Bob tells him how grateful he is to have Angus in his life. However, when Amber drops a bombshell, it looks like Angus will be staying put a little while longer.

This week in Erinsbrough… Roxy’s initial excitement about Lachie’s surprise visit turns to dismay when she realises he has the wrong impression of their relationship. After confessing to Terese that the reason why she jumped at the job at Eirini is that she’s feeling unfulfilled in Darwin, Terese counsels her to make it clear to Lachie that she’s off limits. Roxy does and is relieved when Lachie takes it well… But she’s unaware he’s sticking around in the hope that she’ll lead him and Carter to Max – just like she did last time…
Holly is relieved when Shane arrives, just as worried as she is about Max’s disappearance. When Shane sees Andrew, dusty after a big night, he confronts him, accusing him of not caring about Max and his disappearance. Andrew puts him in his place and Shane admits his anguish to Jane. He’s got a terrible feeling about Max’s disappearance.
Having returned home early, Susan is keen to resume her role at Eirini while Karl continues his recuperation, although he’s clearly oddly out of sorts. But Susan is thrown when Terese lists the mistakes she and Roxy had to deal with while Susan was away – that Susan apparently made before she left, checking, Susan is mortified when it’s confirmed she was responsible. Praying on her vulnerability, Roxy suggests that Susan may have made them because the job is too much for her.
Max is back in town and explains to Holly that he’s been with Carter the whole time he was missing, staying there in exchange for learning where Sadie was, until he got the chance to escape. The only reason he’s back in Erinsborough is to collect his passport so he can take the first flight out of the country – the only way he can keep everyone safe. Keen to stay out of the public eye, Max recruits Holly; first to get his passport and then, when Shane beats her to it, to sneak into the Penthouse, correctly suspecting his dad has left the document with Paul for safekeeping. Holly narrowly avoids being caught and gives Max his passport, but when she overhears Shane’s distress about his missing son, she can’t keep quiet anymore.
Paul is back from New York and his reunion with Terese is warm and loving. He admits being away gave him space to think about what he used to have when he and Terese were last together – a family unit with Ned and Harlow. He admits he misses that and surprises Terese when he suggests they can have that again, suggesting he moves back to Ramsay Street. Terese is taken aback but agrees to the idea, and when Paul and Nell sort out their differences, the deal is done. But watching Paul, comfortable in his old surroundings, a seed of doubt is planted in Terese’s mind…
With Susan stressed over her mistakes at work, Karl urges her to talk to Terese. Exposed by Aaron, Roxy’s guilt gets the better of her and she confesses to Susan and Karl – and later Terese admitting she’s the one behind Susan’s apparent incompetence. Susan glad she owned up to it but tells Karl there’s no excuse for dishonesty, a comment that makes him a little uneasy.
When Krista wonders if Fallon’s happy for her and Leo, Leo offers to sound Fallon out. But while Krista agrees, she’s feeling on the outer. By the lake, Leo comforts Fallon as she opens up about her ex-fiancé, but when Krista sees Leo put an arm around Fallon, she’s thrown. When Leo returns home, Krista laments that she wishes she was closer to Fallon and the next day, tries to get Fallon to open up to her. But Fallon deflects, instead offering to contact Sebastian for her to return the hoodie he left in the apartment. While she does, Krista goes to see Paul who agrees to walk her down the aisle. Paul encourages Krista to be patient in building a connection with Fallon.
When Toadie is struck by how well Nell and Paul are getting along, Nell admits that she’s giving Paul and chance since he loves Terese so much. Toadie admits to Terese that maybe he was hasty in kiboshing Paul moving in and Terese assures him Nell remains her number one priority and asks him to trust her.
Later, Toadie admits he’s changed his mind – Paul can move in with Nell and Terese. But although Paul is grateful, Terese is suddenly uncomfortable, later telling Paul that it feels strange for him to move into a house where Nell has so many memories of her and Toadie. Paul suggests a compromise; they should move in with him in the Penthouse. Everyone agrees, leaving Paul rejoicing…

This week in Summer Bay… It’s disaster and chaos when the members of Lyrik, awake on their rehearsal trip to discover Cash and Tim both in critically dangerous condition. Cash covered in blood, disoriented and concussed while Tim’s unconscious. Eden runs to Tim’s side. Bree switches into work-mode, Tim’s prognosis is critical and she’s against the clock to keep him alive until the paramedics arrive.
Detective Sergeant Mark Townsend arrives before the paramedics, immediately suspicious of Cash. Cash implores Townsend focuses on protecting Eden, but for Townsend, everything is pointed to Cash. Meanwhile, Tim’s situation is worsening, and Bree opts to perform an emergency operation: “a burr hole”. The operation successful, Bree is applauded by the others for her tenacity and the paramedics escort Tim to hospital. Bree gives the paramedics directives on treating Cash’s concussion, against Townsend’s requests.
ane and Dana anxiously await the result of Harper’s baby surgery. Dana demands Tane leave the hospital. He’s making her nervous. She’ll call him if anything goes wrong. Mackenzie follows Tane for emotional support, and he confesses his guilt and trepidation over their choice to go ahead with the procedure.
Remi is trying to get a hold of Eden, who has denounced their friendship, but runs into Justin instead who tells him that news is getting around of Cash’s arrest. Remi tells Justin he saw Cash and Tim arguing the night before Tim was hospitalised and relayed his misgivings towards Cash to the police. Justin reacts strongly in defence of Cash, reminding him that police officers don’t do too well in prison. Justin comes to understand Remi’s trepidation towards Cash, and Remi’s made aware of the severe consequences his confession might have towards Cash.
Mali meets Kirby at the board shop, who asks him for her job back. Mali rejects her offer; how can she work at a surf shop if she’s unable to give surf lessons? Kirby takes this to heart, she’s still thrown after witnessing the fatal incident with Tim, she hadn’t thought of the possibility that she’s ill-equipped to even work at the board shop anymore. Theo, having caught the conversation between Kirby and Mali, implores Mali to reconsider his decision and lead with sensitivity, considering everything Kirby’s been through. Mali chases Kirby down the beach and apologises, he was so caught up in his own problems that he hadn’t taken a second to consider all the stress Kirby’s been under. They both apologise, and he tells her that the conversation is still open for her to have her old job back.
Abigail meets with Nerida, under false pretences of helping her. They agree to be each other’s alibi on their whereabouts for the night that Tim was hurt. Abigail takes this as evidence to Rose at the police station. Rose therefore needs to clarify with whom Abigail did spend that night – which happens to be Rose’s ex-boyfriend (Mali). Rose is thrown but remains calm and professional when she is forced to get Mali to corroborate Abby’s whereabouts – an awkward moment between the exes and the penny drops for Abigail that they used to date.
At the hospital, Eden questions Bree on Tim’s prognosis. The doctors remain hopeful but there are still many uncertainties that lie ahead. Rose visits and Eden begs her to continue her investigation. Rose leaves determined, despite hitting multiple dead ends. Eden sits vigil by Tim’s hospital bedside. Abigail visits, apologetic, but Eden is unable to accept her apology. After one final confession of guilt on her contribution to Cash and Tim’s situation, Abby leaves. Eden stops her – has she seen Cash? Abigail tells Eden that Cash could really use her support. Eden softens, and the sister’s bond is healing as they both make apologies. Eden confesses maybe if she hadn’t told Tim about her feelings for Cash, none of this would have happened. Bree overhears the conversation and after Eden incessantly questions her on Tim’s health, Bree implores her that she needs to take a break, maybe a good way might be to go and visit Cash?
Meanwhile, Cash is granted bail and goes home, dejected. Abigail visits Cash to try to glean some more facts from the Nerida case, but Cash reprimands her for putting herself in potential danger. He’s still unable to regain his memory from the night of the incident after his concussion, so he baulks at the Nerida accusations. When Cash goes for a run after, the memories begin to flood back, and he is spurred to action. Cash rushes to the hospital and confesses his recounting of Nerida’s assault, but Rose tells him they can’t do anything without Tim there to corroborate the evidence. Meanwhile, Nerida, still roaming free of guilt and dodging accusations, goes to visit Tim in the ICU…
