Lorraine Kelly launches mental health campaign with ITV

The ITV Lorraine programme has today announced its new celebrity backed mental health campaign March4March…

The project will see Lorraine Kelly join forces with a number of famous faces as they open up about their own mental health journeys whilst walking and talking. Launching on air tomorrow, the late Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy will join Lorraine for her first ever TV interview following his tragic passing.

Kate will bravely open up about the late singer’s struggles and the poignant meaning which led to her involvement in Lorraine’s new mental health campaign.

Pete Wicks, Tyler West, Vicky Pattison, Vogue Williams, Ellie Simmonds and more will all share their personal stories as part of the programme’s month-long mental health initiative. March4March is aimed at supporting the 1 in 4 Brits who suffer with low mood as research reveals it’s clinically proven that exercise and movement is beneficial in aiding better mental health.

Lorraine will ask its viewers, celebrity supporters and members of the show’s family to pledge a number of steps across the month of March, with an overall target goal of reaching at least 3 million steps in a bid to metaphorically walk the entire length of the UK.

Lorraine Kelly:

“I’m so pleased we are launching a campaign dedicated to destigmatizing the conversation around mental health and I’m so grateful to the amazing names who’ve already agreed to bravely share their stories and pledge their support for such a worthy cause. I’m looking forward to getting out walking and talking and I look forward to taking our amazing viewers along with me.”

The campaign stems from the programme’s continued commitment to social purpose following its groundbreaking and lifechanging Change + Check and No Butts campaigns. March4March will provide a platform and safe space to destigmatise the conversation around mental health as well as encouraging viewers to move more for their minds. A Lorraine ‘March-O-Meter’ will be shown on screen across the month to tally the total number of steps pledged throughout the duration of the campaign.

Lorraine’s March4March campaign launches with Kate Cassidy on Wednesday 5th March, Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
