Catherine Tyldesley set to return to Coronation Street as Eva Price

Catherine Tyldesley is set to reprise her role as Eva Price in Coronation Street.

According to The Sun, the actress will return to the cobbles this summer, with her character making an appearance on screen later in the year.

A source told the paper:

“Catherine has been away for a while and worked on countless other projects but she really missed Corrie. They have tried to get her back a few times but the stars have never aligned.

“But when she was approached with the [latest] idea for Eva’s return, it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. She wll start filming again in summer and be back on screen for autumn.

“She’s so excited and can’t wait to get back on the cobbles and it’s definitely not going to be a storyline to miss.”

Tyldesley originally played the role of Eva for seven years from 2011 to 2018 before stepping away from the soap to explore other opportunities.

She joined the cast with Michelle Collins, who portrayed Eva’s landlady mum, Stella, and John Michie, who played Stella’s boyfriend, Karl.

During her time on the cobbles, Eva was at the heart of many storylines, including a dramatic revenge plot against her fiancé Aidan Connor (played by Shayne Ward) after she found out he cheated on her with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon).

Catherine has also appeared in The Street, Scarborough, and The Good Ship Murder.
