BBC World Service podcast Dear Daughter is back with a new celebrity run of episodes…
Dear Daughter: Stars features a glittering line up of celebrity guests including Adjoa Andoh, Audrey Akande, Kalki Koechlin and more. The format is returning with a brand-new mini-series, featuring an array of famous faces from screen, entertainment and sport.
The fourth series of the award-winning podcast, hosted by Namulanta Kombo, will hear more inspirational letters written from parents to their children, but this time, all from guests who are ‘stars’ in their field.
The show will hear stories of family, love, and parenting in the spotlight from guests including Bridgerton actor Adjoa Andoh, The Receipts podcast co-host Audrey Akande, Australian football pro Katrina Gorry, activist and Bollywood star Kalki Koechlin and more.
What’s it like to be a professional athlete after a pregnancy? How does an influencer navigate consent when creating content with her child? And how does a model teach her daughter that looks don’t matter?
Having never worked in broadcasting, Namulanta Kombo won the BBC World Service’s first International Podcast Competition in 2021. The idea for Dear Daughter came from her decision to start writing letters to her young daughter. In each episode, a guest reads a letter they’ve written to their daughter (or son, or important young person in their lives) with the advice, lessons, and stories they’d like to pass on.
Dear Daughter has seen awards success, most notably winning Podcast of the Year at the British Podcast Awards 2022.

The first episode of Dear Daughter: Stars will be available on 28 February 2025, with new episodes released weekly on podcast platforms, and visualised episodes on YouTube. It will be followed by the return of Dear Daughter season 5 in May 2025.
