Confrontations and farewells in Emmerdale

The aftermath of the limo lake crash continued…

In tonight’s heart stopping episode of Emmerdale, chaos erupted at the hospital as the four emergency vehicles screeched into A&E, where young medic Jacob (Joe Warren Plant) was on shift. His world was shattered when he realised the devastating crash had involved the limousine carrying his beloved mother.

Desperate scenes unfolded as Jacob frantically searched the hospital corridors, only to make the most gut-wrenching discovery of his life, his mother Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) lying lifeless in the morgue. Jacob said his final, heartbreaking goodbye to the woman who had raised him.

Meanwhile, tensions reached boiling point as Moira (Natalie J. Robb) unleashed her fury on husband Cain (Jeff Hordley) for his betrayal during her tumour surgery. Hellbent on revenge, she stormed off to confront Ruby (Beth Cordingly) over her reckless actions.

The hospital corridors became a battleground for survival, as Liam (Jonny McPherson) and Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) fought for their lives, whilst a determined Charity (Emma Atkins) demanded answers about her son Noah (Jack Downham) and his involvement in the tragedy. The episode reached a nail biting climax as Amy’s life hung by a thread, with the haunting sound of her heart monitor flatlining echoing through the ward.

In Tuesday’s episode scenes at the frozen lake saw Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) rescued from the water by Tracy (Amy Walsh) but quickly went into shock, whilst Liam (Jonny McPherson) battled a worsening head injury. Kerry (Laura Norton) and Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) made a perilous escape across the cracking ice as the limo sank taking Suzy (Martelle Edinborough) down with it.

With the situation dire for Amy, Leyla, Liam and Noah (Jack Downham) they were sped to hospital in four separate ambulances. Meanwhile, the violent confrontation between Caleb (Will Ash) and Cain (Jeff Hordley) was narrowly prevented but Cain had to make the journey home to tell his wife the truth.
