Amanda Holden launches BGT return with fashion reflection

ITV have confirmed the launch date for Britain’s Got Talent’s 18th series…

The BGT social team have also posted a video which sees judge Amanda Holden revisit some of her most iconic looks that she has worn throughout her 18 series stint on Britain’s Got Talent.

Amanda starts with a still from day one of series one in 2007. She mentions her high arched eyebrows and says, “what was I thinking?”, following up revealing that her top was actually worn back to front.

For the series two final, Amanda wore a union jack dress in homage to Ginger Spice and for the final of series three, Amanda says that the red dress she wore was “one of my favourite ever looks.” It was by designer Tamara Ralph of Ralph and Russo. She thought she looked like a giant sweetie with a big bow and was actually stitched into it. She reveals that she couldn’t sit down wearing it, so instead perched on the end of her seat. She didn’t care because she looked “snatched.”

On to the dress which ‘nearly won the Ofcom complaint of the year with’, the iconic Julien Macdonald revealing number, worn for one of the series 11 semi-finals. She “stands by” that dress and would ‘wear it to this day, although she doubts, she can get back into it.

Recalling the pink latex dress she wore for the series 15 auditions, Amanda jokes “I reckon I lost about half a stone in sweat that day, but I loved it.”

For last year’s final, Amanda says that the dress she wore was one of her favourite dresses of all time. She says “I’ve got muscly arms like Madonna. I haven’t now, look.” As she shakes her arms she says “that is called a truffled brie arm. Wobble wobble wobble. I love cheese.”

Britain’s Got Talent returns with a brand-new series on Saturday 22nd February at 7pm on ITV1, STV, STV Player and ITVX.
