Cymande has announced an additional date to their upcoming UK tour…
The extra date follows the release of their new album, ‘Renascence’, launched last week, via BMG. Fans can now look forward to an exclusive performance at Albert Hall, Manchester on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Cymande’s tickets for their show at O2 Academy Brixton in London on Friday, October 17, 2025, are already on sale.
‘Renascence’ marks a pivotal moment for Cymande, featuring the latest single “How We Roll” in collaboration with acclaimed British DJ and music producer Jazzie B of Soul II Soul fame. This track embodies Cymande’s signature blend of expansive grooves, impeccable basslines, and global rhythms, delivering a powerful message about empowerment and community.
In 2024, Cymande was honored with the ‘Originator Award’ at the Artist & Manager Awards, celebrating their pioneering influence in the music industry. The year also saw the release of their acclaimed documentary “Getting It Back: The Story Of Cymande”, directed by award-winning Tim Mackenzie-Smith. Additionally, the band made their UK TV debut on Later… With Jools Holland, performing their new single “Chasing An Empty Dream” and the classic hit “Bra”.

Building on their 1974 album Promised Heights, ‘Renascence’ serves as a spiritual and sonic follow-up, infusing a fresh modern edge into their timeless sound. The album remains foundational to the early hip-hop and funk scenes in both the United States and the UK, telling the story of a band reclaiming their legacy with politically aware and spiritually positive infectious grooves.
