New look for Sky’s NOW streaming service

The UK offering is aligning with stateside NBC’s global streaming service…

Sky’s streaming platform NOW will be getting a brand-new look and feel to its UI, helping members to get closer to the content they love faster. Starting in February, NOW will migrate on to NBCUniversal’s technology platform to deliver a “world class streaming experience for its members” Sky notes.

Whilst the NOW brand will remain unchanged, the new look and feel will harness NBCUniversal’s platform to further enhance the viewing experience and deliver a more personalised experience overall.

The changes were announced by Carli Kerr, Managing Director of NOW & Sky Content, at the OTT event yesterday.

“Migrating to NBCU’s Global Streaming Platform means NOW members will benefit from the ongoing delivery of customer features that enhance the viewing experience and leverage the latest technologies and innovations across the platform” – Carli Kerr, Managing Director of NOW & Sky Content

The changes will bring a number of UI improvements including, making it easier to jump into the shows everyone is talking about, like Sky’s biggest ever Original The Day of the Jackal or franchise favourites like series three of the Sky exclusive The White Lotus

New rails such as Top 10s and smoother search options while for Sports Members, SkySports+ streams will be housed as curated collections, making it easier to get to what they want to watch in one place, such as The Miami Open tennis tournament.

“There will be more choice and control for families with the introduction of Kids profiles to deliver over 10,000 episodes of award-winning kids’ content, including shows like Sky Kids Ready Eddie Go! or Boomerang’s What’s New Scooby-Doo – all ad-free”Now
