Pick of the Plots: Tuesday 28th January

As fingers are pointed at Gina, George steps in to defend his daughter. Accusations fly as Gina tries to explain herself to her shocked family. Ian smugly tells Elaine he plans to report Gina to the police.

Anna feels comforted and supported by Freddie and they finally give into their feelings for each other.

Meanwhile, Martin is furious at Ruby, but Stacey speaks up for her. Things get even worse for Martin when he goes to tell Ian what’s happened, only to be met by total indifference. Martin is devastated that even Ian doesn’t care about the legacy of their family business as Stacey tries to rally his spirits.

Later, Stacey goes to see Ruby and begs her to use any tricks she can to get the stall back, but Ruby refuses, determined to show she’s changed.

Elsewhere, Sonia confronts Reiss with Jack’s intel, but he manipulates her with a clever explanation. Reiss makes Sonia feel so bad for questioning his motives that when Lauren later comes round to cast doubt on his honesty, Sonia defends her fiancé.

Also, Phil secretly arranges to get Billy out of financial difficulty and enlists Mo’s help.

Kerry insists that Eric needs to give himself a break, as he’s fretting about not being able to pay back Brenda’s life savings. However, she is oblivious to the extent of Eric’s turmoil.

Meanwhile, an awkward Chas admits to Ruby that she told Nicola about Anthony being a danger to children. Livid Ruby tells Chas that she has to take back what she said in order to protect Steph, who still doesn’t know.

Elsewhere, Moira is taken aback to realise that Amy is feeling broody. Encouraged by her, a cautious Amy is bolstered to speak to Matty about the possibility of adopting a child.
