Carol Decker reveals her ITV tattoo

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Carol Decker the latest star to be revealed on The Masked Singer…

This week’s offering saw the show get a ‘superhero’ makeover. In Saturday’s instalment of the hidden celebrity singing series the panel and Joel marvelled at this week’s Masked Celebs. Snail, Tattoo, Kingfisher, Dressed Crab and Teeth all took to the stage once again in an attempt to fool our panel and viewers at home. Joining Maya Jama, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and host Joel Dommett, was celebrated Olympic diver Tom Daley.

In yesterday’s offering viewers saw Tattoo unmasked as Carol Decker. Talking about their time on the show, Carol said: “I’ve loved it and I’m going to say, I’m gutted! Everybody is amazing. I’m gutted because it’s the best fun ever.”

Decker is the lead vocalist of the pop band T’Pau with hits such as China In Your Hand and Heart and Soul.

Speaking to Harriet Rose on The After Mask Carol Decker noted,  she was “Very excited to sing that wonderful song, because I love The Killers, without the mask on and feel a little bit free but gutted to, I wanted to stay. …It’s the way it goes!  But I had a great time.”

Harriet asked if Tatoo had stayed in the show would Carol have sung China In Your Hand?, “Well it would have been of course if I’d got a little bit further down the road. I would have been happy to sing it!”

Carol noted she doesn’t have any tattoos in real life, but if she did get some she’d have “a ‘W’ on each buttocks so when I bend over it spells ‘wow’!”

Next week viewers will see all the remaining characters perform together for the first time on The Masked Singer. These include Bear, Bush, Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Pufferfish, Snail, Teeth and Wolf.

Last weekend there was controversy as singer Macy Grey was unmasked, and having stormed off the stage – dressed as a Toad in the Hole – it took producers an hour to get her back on to ‘unmask’. Thankfully on-screen it was all seen in a few minutes.

Others to depart this run have been Giant Joel who was unmasked as celebrated Olympian Mo Farah, Spag Bol was revealed as Smooth Radio and Good Morning Britain regular Kate Garraway and culinary expert Dame Prue Leith who appeared as Pegasus.
