Peter Green visited the remote home of the famous horror story author Guy N. Smith on Black Hill at Clun, on the South Shropshire highlands. Smith is seen at his remote farmhouse in the Shropshire hills. Smith is heard reading from his horror novel Night of the Crabs. Peter Green talks to him about his work which also includes writing on country matters.
Guy Newman Smith was born in November 1939 in Hopwas village. He was best known for his ‘pulp fiction-style horror’ publications. Smith’s father was a bank manager, his mother a pre-World War II historical novelist, E. M. Weale. Guy was educated at Lichfield Cathedral School and Wrekin College.
Guy died aged 81 in 2020.
