US version of Bridge of Lies joins STV Player line up

Quiz fans rejoice…

The show has become a huge hit since launching on BBC One in 2022, with three regular series, two celebrity series, and two more set to air later this year, but British fans of quiz show, Bridge of Lies, haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy its shiny American counterpart – until now.

From today, free streaming service STV Player will be the UK home of Beat the Bridge, the US version of the format which has gripped audiences across the pond since launching last summer.

And while our local version features EastEnders ‘hardman’ Ross Kemp on hosting duties in typical no-nonsense form, Beat the Bridge is fronted by model-turned-actor Cameron Mathison, best known to UK audiences for starring in Netflix Christmas films such as A Merry Christmas Wish and A Kindhearted Christmas.

The stateside version of the show features the same nail-biting gameplay that has made its UK cousin so popular.

There’s an enormous interactive bridge that dares players to cross by stepping on the right answers to challenging trivia questions. Each step forward puts money in the team’s bank, with bonus money for each successful crossing. However, the team gets to keep the money only if it can “beat the bridge” by returning one of its players back across before time expires in an exciting end game.

50 episodes of Beat the Bridge are available to stream on STV Player now. They first aired on American channel, Game Show Network, last year, with a further 50 episodes set to broadcast later in 2025. The series is co-produced by Game Show Enterprises Studios and STV Studios, based on an original format created by the latter.
