Netflix enter Lucca’s World

“I have to open all the doors that are closed to you…”

Bárbara Mori and Juan Pablo Medina star in the film which arrives on Netflix later this month. Based on the book by Barbara Anderson, Lucca’s World is a ‘story of hope that will touch your soul’.

Barbara pours herself into her son Lucca, who has severe cerebral palsy, so that he can thrive in an often-overwhelming world. She travels to India with her family in search of an experimental therapy that can rekindle his brain’s connections. Lucca’s World portrays the emotional journey of a mother whose dedication and resilience know no bounds.

Bárbara Anderson:

“Watching yourself in a movie is very difficult to explain, I cried when I saw us ‘being’ again. Listening to Bárbara Mori and Juan Pablo Medina’s voices, with my timbre or with Andrés, my husband’s stock phrases… I saw us ‘being’ other people and my body froze. As they often say that reality outdoes fiction, this time fiction catapulted our life to another level”.

Despite financial difficulties, the Barbara and the family pursue the ground-breaking therapy that could reactivate the connections in Lucca’s brain, this powerful film explores the rights of people with disabilities and a mother’s unwavering love.
