A four-part series begins this weekend…
Scotland’s North Coast 500 follows the coast of the wild northern Highlands, taking in some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world.
In the first episode of four, first-time ‘motorhomers’ Jon and Sue Holmes embark on the journey of a lifetime, driving the 516-mile route anti-clockwise from Inverness. As they adapt to motorhome life, they experience everything the Highlands has to offer with a few surprises thrown in, and fall in love with the landscape, and each other, all over again.
Meanwhile, Highland warden Chaz Powell is tackling his first season.

Chaz, alongside a team from the Scottish Highland Council, is responsible for protecting the landscape surrounding the route from the impact of tourists. It’s Chaz’s dream job, but unless he earns a promotion to Ranger, he won’t be considered for year-round employment. Can he impress his bosses enough?
On the western shores, Highland potter David Grant is working on a new commission using a radical technique, as he collects and grinds 300-million-year-old local rock to create a unique glaze for a set of 24 bowls. But will the award-winning chef who commissioned them be impressed.
And on the northern shoreline near the town of Thurso, young entrepreneurs Iona McLachlan and Finn MacDonald are hoping to expand their surfing business by opening another school further along the coastline. Can they convince more tourists to take the plunge in the bracing Scottish waters?
