The ninth series returns to Sky Crime this week…
The World’s Most Evil Killers profiles the vilest murder cases in modern history over another ten-part run. In the first episode of the new series Sky Crime turns its attention to Glen McCurley.
McCurley escaped punishment for nearly 50-years from the date he inflicted a brutal rape and murder on Carla Jan Walker in 1974 and his being found guilty in 2021.
17-year-old Carla Jan Walker met her fate on February 17th, 1974, when she was kidnapped from a bowling alley parking lot in Fort Worth, Texas. Her body was discovered three days later in a drainage ditch, 30 minutes south of Fort Worth. Walker had been beaten, tortured, raped, and strangled to death.
The murder remained a cold case for 46 years until September 2020, when DNA evidence recovered from Walker’s clothing was sent for modern DNA testing, funded not by the police but by a television company. The DNA matched with Samuel McCurley, who was arrested for the murder and later found guilty with a sentence of life in prison.
His punishment however was short-lived. Having got away for decades with the crime, living a normal life, he died on July 15th, 2023.
Other morbid minds and crimes featured in 2025 include William Devin Howell, Michael Bruce Ross and Donald Henry Gaskins to note just a few.
