Following the success of EastEnders’ ‘flash forward’ with ‘the six’ Emmerdale is flashing too for soap fans…
This New Year’s Eve Emmerdale will feature five jaw-dropping flashforward scenes. But what do these cryptic scenes mean and what does the future hold for villagers in the months to come as 2024 becomes 20250?
Ruby is desperately trying to make a fresh start with her daughter Steph (Georgia Jay), but is struggling with the fact her abusive father, Anthony (Nicholas Day) is living in the village. Anthony knows that she slept with Cain (Jeff Hordley) which is adding extra tension to the situation. Ruby confides in Chas (Lucy Pargeter) that Caleb (William Ash) may not be Steph’s father and she makes the decision to gain control of the situation. But her secrets won’t stay quiet for long and as a result her whole world begins to implode.
Marlon (Mark Charnock), Rhona (Zoe Henry) and April’s (Amelia Flannigan) family and friends are devastated to begin the New Year not knowing where she is. Marlon blames himself and when a secret is revealed, Marlon and Rhona struggle to pull together to support each other at a time when they need each other more than ever.
Dawn (Olivia Bromley) is grieving her father, Will. At first she is suspicious of Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) sudden arrival, but soon makes a discovery which turns her suspicions towards her step mother Kim (Claire King). Is grief blinding poor Dawn’s judgement or is she on to something? It’s not long before Dawn takes matters into her own hands and in the process makes decisions that could ruin her life.
The winter nights are long, dark and cold, but what should be a fun night out ends in a devastating disaster which will shatter life in the village forever.
