Soap highlights for the coming week from River City…
This week in Shieldinch… it’s Madonna’s 18th birthday but Dean discovers a devastating secret about his girlfriend; Des and Harry have retribution in mind with a new prime suspect on their radar; and Kelly-Marie is stunned to learn the depths of Callum’s abandonment issues.
Dean confides in Angus he has a very special present planned for Madonna’s 18th – a marriage proposal. Overhearing this, a concerned Conor decides it’s time to tell Dean the truth about Madonna and her failed attempt to seduce him.
With the birthday celebrations in full swing, Dean confronts Madonna who tries her best to keep their rekindled relationship on track.
Elsewhere, Harry urges caution when Des sets his sights on Alex – they can’t afford another slip-up. Although he takes Harry’s concerns on board, Des remains resolute that Alex is the grass and offers to get rid of him once and for all.
Later, when Des overhears Lenny and Alex discussing their theory that Tyler is the rat, he reveals this new intel to a stunned Harry. Unwilling to believe his son is under suspicion, an enraged Harry prepares to go to war with the Murdochs.
Callum is heart-broken when he assumes Kelly-Marie’s planning to return to Australia. Kelly-Marie assures him it’s all a misunderstanding and she’s going nowhere. This leads to Callum finally opening up about feeling abandoned by his mum and his fears he’ll lose her again.

In the second episode of the week, and the series finale until its return in February 2025, it’s Hogmanay in Shieldinch and Harry orchestrates a showdown to finally reveal the rat; Mikey is on tenterhooks at the hospital waiting for Jonathon to wake-up; and Caitlin is left broken-hearted when Seb reaches breaking point over their affair.
As the New Year beckons, rivalries are stirred at a dangerous showdown between Lenny and Harry. Despite Eddie trying to keep things calm, Tyler fears his days are numbered.
Later, at the Two Jailbirds, the Murdochs and Foulkes families come together as accusations fly with Eddie and Des pointing the finger to two suspects. Harry dismisses the idea Tyler is the grass, firmly believing it’s Alex. However, as he starts to waiver, Harry decides to test his son’s loyalty. With doubts circling, danger comes calling when Harry sets his sights on silencing the rat forever.
Elsewhere, at the hospital, Mikey waits by Jonathon’s beside – worried about what will happen when his husband finally wakes-up. Gillian assures Mikey it was an accident, but he should see it as a sign to get out of his abusive relationship while he still can. Emotionally drained, Mikey’s stunned when Jonathon finally regains consciousness but is dealt a shocking surprise and an even more uncertain future.
Seb urges Caitlin to start the new year afresh and tell Sam the truth. Reluctant, Caitlin stalls for time, persuading Seb they’ll need to wait until Drew returns to America. However, when Seb discovers Drew plans to stay in Shieldinch, he makes a decision which leaves Caitlin heart-broken on Hogmanay.
