An iconic comedy duo, a-list stars and famous authors all could be heading to the table…
The Traitors has very quickly become one of BBC One’s most popular shows, and whilst we look forward to a brand-new series of the murder-mystery gameshow starting on new year’s day, the Beeb have also announced a brand-new celebrity version is also on the way.
Whilst they’ve stayed tight-lipped about which stars we’ll be seeing on our screens, there has unsurprisingly been plenty of speculation – especially around a certain comedy sibling duo and a-list star we grew up watching on our screens.
BonusFinder have revealed exclusive odds on which famous faces will be heading into the house…
As fans will know, it’s not uncommon to have a pair of allies signed up to The Traitors lineup, with the hope of doubling up on brainpower and winning the game, So, it only makes sense that we might see this in the first ever celebrity series? Well, according to the odds, favourites to enter the castle as a new dastardly duo is Daisy-May Cooper & Charlie Cooper at 8/13.
Best known for their hit-show This Country, the siblings would certainly provide some comic relief to the tense game of lies and deceit. Though since everyone will already know that they’re brother and sister, it may be a difficult task to mask their allegiance to each other…
Second on the bookies lists’ is none other than everyone’s favourite Chatty Man and comedian, Alan Carr at 4/6. One thing’s for sure; he’ll be able to talk his way around The Round Table if he’s a faithful – but will he be able to hold in his secret if Claudia picks him to be a treacherous traitor?
One huge name also rumoured to kick off the celebrity game with a bang is Courtney Cox, otherwise known as Monica Geller, from everyone’s favourite comfort show, Friends – 8/11.
The unexpected claim comes after a viral video that was released on social media last April, when Winkleman bizarrely teamed up with the Hollywood actress to remind viewers to sign up to series two. Fans now believe this was a tease for what’s to come with the upcoming celebrity series. Also in the mix is Radio 2 broadcaster, Vernon Kay, with an odds of 5/6 to enter the house.
It’s easy to see why he’s a strong contender for the game show, he’s charismatic, a good talker, and it helps that he has a close connection to the ringleader, Claudia Winkleman, since she and his wife, Tess, co-host Strictly Come Dancing together.
We could also see Traitors history made with the first-ever drag queen, The Vivienne, rumoured to join the celebrity lineup – at Evens.. Also on the bookies’ lists is fellow gameshow host and author of The Thursday Murder Club, Richard Osman at 2/1. Plus, comedians Bob Mortimer 13/8 and Stephen Fry 7/2.
“Only time will tell which celebrities are heading to The Traitors house. One thing’s for sure: we’re sitting on the edge of our seats.” – BonusFinder
