Genoa CFC is the latest to get on the Squid Game…
Following a host of promotion deals announced earlier this week Genoa CFC is the latest to embark on what they describe as an ‘exciting collaboration with Netflix to celebrate the launch of the highly anticipated second season of the global hit series Squid Game‘.
Squid Game returns to the streaming service on 26th December. The collaboration brings the intensity of South Korean storytelling to the passion of Italian football, creating a unique fusion of entertainment and sport.
The partnership kicks off with a bold change to Genoa’s third kit for today’s (Saturday, December 20th) Serie A match against Napoli. The kit will prominently feature the “Squid Game 2” logo in the centre of the shirt, while Netflix branding will appear on the left sleeve.
To promote the partnership, Genoa stars Mario Balotelli, Morten Frendrup, Johan Vásquez, and Pierluigi Gollini wore the iconic green tracksuits from the show, complete with their jersey numbers, for a dynamic campaign shoot that blends football with the drama of Squid Game.
Fans attending Saturday’s game at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris will be treated to an unforgettable experience. Pre-match and halftime activities will include themed games and events inspired by the series, with a chance to encounter the infamous red-jumpsuited guards patrolling the grounds.
This collaboration reflects Genoa’s commitment to global brand growth. It follows a string of high-profile partnerships with MSC, Pulsee, Red Bull, and Ceres, as well as a memorable collaboration with wrestling legend The Undertaker to unveil the club’s latest third kit.
