The presenter fills the void left by Angela Rippon…
Louise Minchin will join Gloria Hunniford and Julia Somerville and the rest of the Rip Off Britain team to tackle the most pressing consumer issues hitting audiences across the UK in the forthcoming series early next year.
Louise Minchin:
“I’m delighted to be joining the incredible team at Rip Off Britain. I’ve always admired the show for really making a difference, for shining a spotlight on the issues that matter most to people and empowering viewers with the knowledge to tackle everyday challenges and stand up for their rights. From uncovering scams to giving audiences the advice they need to safeguard their money, we’ll do our best to promote the stories that expose the latest consumer issues and help to make a real difference. It’s going to be an exciting series!”
With fifteen episodes over three weeks the long-running consumer programme will continue to bring audiences all the information they need to keep their money safely in their pocket – exposing rip-offs and scams and providing expert advice. The new series will showcase weekly sun-soaked ‘Holiday’ specials, where the focus is making sure holidaymakers can enjoy their well-earned breaks.

She will also hear from travellers caught up in the floods in Dubai in April 2024, who’ve been left thousands of pounds out of pocket, and say a leading global airline should have done much more to help them. The team also go undercover to expose high pressure sales tactics by a domestic heating company – and hear from customers who ended up with rocketing energy bills.
Commissioning Editor for Daytime, Rachel Platt:
“Louise is a great addition to the Rip Off Britain team. She brings both the journalistic rigour needed to hold organisations to account and the warmth and empathy to get to the heart of real stories.”
Rip Off Britain will be returning to BBC One on Monday, 6th January 2025.
