In a special programme Sky brings together the majestic sound of Scotland with the sound of pipe bands, drums and pipers in a series of what they describe as ‘spectacular performances.’
The music is set against the breath-taking landscapes of Scotland. Weaving together powerful performances with the hustle and bustle of backstage, this one-off celebration of highland sounds also offers a deep dive into the passion, history and traditions of Scotland’s most iconic musical artform of the bagpipes.
Between performances individual pipers discuss their connection to the tunes played, the locations and the art of playing the old tartan bag. They may not have been popular with Taggart, but for most Scots, since the 14th century, they have been the sound of Scottish pride.
